Advanced trainings and Areas of Interest: I am certified in the Assessment of Process and Motor Skills. This assessment is used to evaluate a person’s quality of performance of personal or instrumental activities of daily living; it can be used on individual’s ages 2 years and above. From my experience during my clinicals, I developed an interest in addressing fine motor and gross motor control/skills, visual-perceptual skills, self-regulation and social participation. I have furthered my knowledge in feeding and eating over the course of the last year. I have taken courses regarding Improving Oral-Motor Function, Strategies to Assist Picky Eaters and the AEIOU Systematic Approach to Pediatric Feeding. After having the opportunity to work with a variety of handwriting/processing concerns, I am looking forward to furthering my knowledge in the Orton Gillingham Program.
Prior Experience: I graduated from Midwestern University in the fall of 2015. I had various placements throughout my educational career in a pediatric outpatient clinic, school-based therapy and an acute care unit at a hospital. Prior to obtaining my occupational therapy license, I had experience with a therapeutic day school and worked with the special parks and recreation. I am very excited to start my journey as a therapist with All Bright!
Who I Am: I am originally from Downers Grove, IL and recently moved to Chicago. I am lucky to have a family that is local and a wonderful 4-year-old chocolate lab, Lily. In my spare time, I enjoy listening to live music, going to sporting events (mostly the White Sox), playing intramural sports with my friends, trivia and Chicago pizza.
