Lauren Mckeand, Speech Language Pathologist

Education: Bradley University – B.S. in Social Work and Psychology; Wayne State University – M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology

Advanced trainings and Areas of Interest: Early Language Development, Autism, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Social Language (Pragmatics), Sensory Processing Disorder, Phonology, Parent counseling/education

Prior Experience: Currently, I work at an Elementary School in Chicago Public Schools during the day and for All Bright Therapies after school. Before this, I worked at Communication Clubhouse (a private clinic in Downers Grove, IL). I enjoy having the diverse experiences of working in a school setting, a clinic setting, and in Early Intervention. I have learned to help children from one year to fourteen years communicate more effectively at home, at school, and in the community.

Who I Am: I have lived in Chicago for over four years. After living in Michigan for a while, it was nice to come home. When I’m not helping kids talk, I enjoy exploring my neighborhood, volunteering with animals, watching movies, reading a good book, or catching a Cubs game.
