Education: I received both my Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology and my Masters of Occupational Therapy from Ohio State University.
Advanced trainings and Areas of Interest: I completed a pediatric specialization in occupational therapy through my master’s program. I have previous clinical experience in constraint induced movement therapy, sensory processing, fine motor skill development, and the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum.
Prior Experience: I completed a clinical rotation at the Cooke Center for Learning and Development in New York, NY, a private school for individuals with disabilities. There I focused on providing therapy services to elementary students in the classroom, in the sensory gym, and during field-trips in the New York City metro area to enhance carry-over and promote each student’s independence in a real-world setting. Prior to this experience I completed a clinical rotation in acute care at Riverside Hospital in Columbus, OH, where I co-treated patients with a physical therapist in the critical care units. I love collaborating and working directly with families to ensure that they are involved in every aspect of the therapy process to best meet the needs of each child both in the home and in the community.
Who I Am: I was born and raised in Youngstown, Ohio. I am new to Chicago as of the summer of 2015. I love spending my free time exploring the city, going to local festivals, traveling, painting, going to sporting events, and walking along the lakefront with my mixed breed 4 year old dog, Lily. I am excited to see all that the city has to offer.
